Chapter Leader Orientation Course Working Group

OWASP Chapter Leaders play a pivotal role in this ecosystem - they are the bridge between the global OWASP organization and the local security community.

However, the role of a Chapter Leader extends far beyond organizing meetings or events. It involves understanding OWASP’s mission, adhering to community guidelines, managing resources responsibly, maintaining ethical standards, promoting OWASP membership, inclusivity, and aligning local initiatives with global objectives. Without proper induction and orientation, new leaders may face challenges in navigating OWASP’s governance model, available resources, sponsorship models, community expectations, and operational procedures.

To address this, the OWASP Chapter Leaders Induction and Orientation Course aims to provide a structured onboarding experience that ensures all leaders are well-equipped to represent OWASP effectively.

The course will introduce participants to OWASP’s mission, values, governance framework, and community tools while clarifying roles, responsibilities, and best practices for running successful chapters.
