OWASP Mahendra Engineering College Student Chapter


OWASP Mahendra Engineering College was founded in Febraury 2023. We provide security conferences, talks, webinars, workshops and meetups about cybersecurity to everyone. We are here to provide awareness and help everyone to exchange information, knowledge about cybersecurity. Our aim is to improve the quality of cyberspace by promoting safety, security, and accessibility for all users.


The Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) is a nonprofit foundation that works to improve the security of software. All of our projects, tools, documents, forums, and chapters are free and open to anyone interested in improving application security. Chapters are led by local leaders in accordance with the Chapters Policy. Financial contributions should only be made online using the authorized online donation button. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in our events and contribute their support.

  • Inaugural event of OWASP Mahendra Engineering College Student Chapter has been successfully completed during 24.03.2023 by Dr.A.Neela Madheswari at 11.15 a.m. to 12.50 p.m. Guest: Mr.Vignesh, Livewire, Namakkal.
  • Two days Workshop on title OCCULT IN SHADOW (Unveiling the Mystery of OSINT & Pentesting) is completed during 17.08.2023 and 18.08.2023 in offline mode at the Department of CyberSecurity, Mahendra Engineering College, Namakkal. Our Chapter Leaders Mr.R.Barath, Mr.M.Nanmaran and Mr.R.Athesh Pargau served as Speakers for this event.
  • Three days Cyber Security Awareness Month Celebration October 2023 with the events:
    • Guest Lecture on Vulnerability Management, Resource Person: Mr.Pintoo Raj, Cyber Defence Manager, Hosur during 12.10.2023
    • Conducted CTF titled WHO AM I 2.0, Challenge Creators are: OWASP Chapter Leads Nanmaran, Barath and Athesh Pargau, Venue: Thiruvalluvar Arangam, Mahendra Engineering College during 13.10.2023
    • Conducted Webinar on Social Engineering, Resource Person: Mr.Rakesh Elamaran, Security Engineer, Comcast, Chennai during 18.10.2023
  • Workshop on title Visual Vortex - Essential Skill Building for Video Crafting is completed during 22.12.2023 in offline mode organized by the Department of Cyber Security in association with OWASP Mahendra Engineering College Student Chapter at Thiruvalluvar Arangam, Mahendra Engineering College. Nearly 250 students, I and II Year of Cyber Security and II Year of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science students attended. Speakers are: OWASP Student members SriHarish, JayaVignesh and Venkatesh belongs to the II Year B.E. Cyber Security.
  • The Technical Symposium titled Cyber.L@ne-2024 was organized in association with OWASP Student Chapter during 7th March 2024 by the Department of Cyber Security at Thiruvalluvar Arangam, Mahendra Engineering College. Up to 178 other engineering college students and 32 mahendra engineering college students participated. There are five events conducted in the Symposium namely: CTF Workshop, Paper Presentation, Short Film, CTF Who AM I 3.0, Fun Arena. Nearly 210 students of Cyber Security department, faculty members coordinated the entire event with the support of the management and higher authorities.
  • Workshop titled Implications of Gen-AI in Academia was organized in association with OWASP Student Chapter during 24.4.2024 by the Department of Cyber Security at LH406, Department of Cyber Security, Mahendra Engineering College. Up to 60 students participated. OWASP Student members of III Year Cyber Security namely: S.Anbarasan, D.Monisha, D.Pavithra and J.Pavithra served as the Speakers for the day.
