Founded in August 2025, our chapter is dedicated to helping students explore, learn, and grow in the exciting world of cybersecurity. Whether you’re a total beginner or already a tech enthusiast, there’s a place for you here. Our mission is simple: make learning security fun, interactive, and impactful.
Participation
All events hosted by OWASP SIES GST are open to everyone. Students, faculty, and anyone curious about cybersecurity. Get involved in our CTF competitions, technical workshops, projects, and other hands-on activities that will sharpen your skills, boost your confidence, and connect you with like-minded peers. No prior experience is required; all that matters is your curiosity and willingness to learn.

This workshop is designed to prepare participants for the upcoming Capture The Flag competition. We will cover CTF basics, common challenge types such as Web, Linux, and OSINT, and walk through live problem-solving techniques. No prior experience is required.
OWASP SIES GST Capture The Flag (CTF)

Description:
A multi-day Capture The Flag competition focused on real-world cybersecurity challenges. Participants will work individually or in teams to solve challenges related to Web Security, Cryptography, Linux, and Basic Forensics. Certificates and recognition will be provided to top performers.

Chapter Inauguration Ceremony
The OWASP SIES Graduate School of Technology Student Chapter was officially inaugurated on 23 January 2026, marking the beginning of a new initiative focused on cybersecurity awareness, learning, and hands-on skill development within the institute.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of the Principal of SIES Graduate School of Technology, along with the Chairperson - Vedant Borade, Head of Department - Sulochana Madachane, and respected members of the faculty. Their presence and encouragement highlighted the importance of cybersecurity education and industry-relevant learning for students.
During the event, the Chairperson addressed the gathering and shared insights on the vision and objectives of the OWASP student chapter. The speech emphasized creating a strong technical community, promoting ethical security practices, and providing students with opportunities to explore real-world cybersecurity challenges.
Faculty members expressed their support for the initiative and encouraged students to actively participate in upcoming workshops, Capture The Flag competitions, and technical sessions organized under the chapter.
The inauguration concluded with an interactive session where students learned about OWASP, the goals of the SIES GST student chapter, and the roadmap for future events. This ceremony marked the foundation of a collaborative and security-focused student community at SIES GST.
