Welcome to the Google Summer of Code 2026!
Monday, May 11, 2026
On behalf of the entire OWASP Foundation, it is our absolute pleasure to welcome 26 new contributors to Google Summer of Code 2026. This summer, you’re not just writing code, you’re helping build a more secure world, one commit at a time.
OWASP’s mission has always been clear: no more insecure software. Every year, GSoC brings us fresh energy, brilliant minds, and bold ideas that push that mission forward. This year is no exception.
A Remarkable Cohort

Highlights from the 2026 Project Slate
This year’s projects span the full spectrum of application security, and a few themes stand out:
Agentic AI Security is a major focus, with multiple contributors — ashike25, Muhammad Daniyal, Nitin Awari, Regis, and stealthwhiz — building guardrail and detection frameworks for OWASP FinBot, one of the most forward-looking projects in the OWASP portfolio.
Developer Tooling & Automation shines through projects like Mradul Tiwari’s work automating print-ready PDF generation for Cornucopia, sawankshrma’s Angular 13→21 upgrade for DSOMM, and Md Kaif Ansari’s ambitious BLT-Next migration from a Django monolith to a modern edge-based architecture.
Security Knowledge & Intelligence takes center stage with Manshu Saini and ParthAggarwal both working on OpenCRE, alongside PRATEEKSINGHWY’s work on The Librarian module for the OWASP Agent.
Community & Transparency are at the heart of contributions from Anurag Yadav (OWASP Pulse & Contributor Recognition Program), Rudransh Shrivastava (Board Activity and Candidate Verification), and Harshit Verma (OWASP Community Snapshots).
